A Family Event!

I have not written much about my extended family here on this blog. Mostly, there is not much to say.

My husband and I have been trying the past 1 1/2 years to get closer to our parents and siblings. Some has worked, some has not.

Anyway, my husband's grandmother had a tradition of making her Chop Suey and inviting everyone over (of course, I was never invited, but that is beside the point). So in an effort to get together more often and keep up a family tradition, we started a semi-annual Chop Suey event.

Our first event of 2011 will be held tomorrow!

As the family grows and we get busier, we have not had the whole group together, but we usually have between 15-20 people. Tomorrow we will host 17 people.

We will eat.


We will talk.


We will play.


We will enjoy family time.

My hope is that my children can learn the blessings of inviting guests into our warm home.


My hope is this continues for years to come.

I pray that all our extended families can be blessed with love for each other.
