Below is a delicious recipe that I received from a friend last year. The children loved and so did my husband!
Easy Wassail
2 qts apple juice or apple cider
6 cups cranberry juice
4 T brown sugar
2 T cinnamon
2 oranges sliced into 1/4 in slices
1 lemon sliced into 1/4 in slices
Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat to simmer and simmer for 45 minutes. Enjoy!!
I am still seeking some traditional German recipes. Anything would be great! In addition, I have never made Chicken and Dumplings. I know there are many recipes out there, but I would love to hear about yours that are easy and delicious. Feel free to leave in the comments or put your blog link in the comments. Thanks!

Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment about the German meat patties. I do have more German recipes, so I'll have to make some and post the recipes. I think most of them are for breakfast, so that'll be the easiest to add to my menu plan for a weekend breakfast meal.
And I do have a fabulous Chicken & Dumplings slow cooker recipe for you:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 Tbsp butter
2 carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, sliced
2 potatoes, peled & cubed
1 onion, diced
1 can cream of chicken
1 can chicken broth
1 tsp salt, optional
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
2 pkgs. refrigerator biscuit dough, torn into pieces
Place all ingredients into slow cooker and fill with enough water to cover. Cover with lid and cook 5-6 hours on low. About 30 minutes before serving, place torn biscuit dough into slow cooker and cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.
